YRH is pleased to announce the appointment of René Morissette as Director of FTTH and Outside plants

Montreal, April 12, 2021—Yves R. Hamel and Associates Inc. (YRH), one of Canada’s leading telecommunications, radiocommunication and mobile communications firms is pleased to announce the arrival and nomination of René Morissette as Director of FTTH and Outside Plants. His appointment, combined with his vast experience, will reinforce the efforts put in place in the last few years to meet the market demand for FTTH, high-speed Internet and the advent of the 5G.

Mr. René Morissette is a senior engineer and seasoned manager in the field of telecommunications, FTTH and outside plants. He graduated from the University of Sherbrooke with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in telecommunications. He has worked for more than 27 years in the field of telecommunications and consulting engineering. During his career, he has participated in the deployment of several thousands of km of fibre optic and FTTH networks across Canada for most of the major Canadian telecommunications carriers and several organizations owning critical telecommunications infrastructure such as Hydro-Quebec. He also participated in the planning and design of Small Cell projects for 5G deployment. As a manager and leader, he has led very large multidisciplinary teams in numerous FTTH telecommunications projects.


The appointment of René Morissette furthers the efforts put in place over the past few years by YRH in the outside plants and FTTH markets. His vast experience in this sector and his management skills will accelerate our positioning and expand our knowledge in this crucial field for the deployment of high-speed Internet. This nomination is in line with our development strategy, aiming to increase our expertise and our offer to meet the demand of our main customers, including telecommunication companies, cable companies as well as large organizations and companies, such as electrical utilities.

Mr. Beauséjour added that this appointment is also in line with recent announcements from the Quebec and Ontario governments, as well as from the Federal government for high-speed Internet deployment programs in addition to the 5G implementation by cellular operators who will have a great need for fibre optics for the deployment of “Small Cells.”
