Montreal, April 19, 2021—Yves R. Hamel and Associates Inc. (YRH), one of Canada’s leading telecommunications, radiocommunication and mobile communications firms is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Villemure as Project Manager and Senior Engineer in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and telecommunications. Bringing in his vast experience and management skills to YRH will strengthen our ITS team, where he will respond to current mandates, support with the growing demand for this market and assist communities in urban mobility and GHG impact reduction.

Mr. Martin Villemure is a senior engineer and a seasoned manager in ITS, telecommunications and fibre-optic networks. He graduated from Laval University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and has worked for over 20 years in the field of ITS, telecommunications and consulting engineering. During his career, participated in the deployment of numerous ITS projects throughout Quebec for the MTQ, PJCCI and several municipalities, as well as for several major Canadian telecommunications carriers and several organizations with critical telecommunications infrastructure such as Hydro-Québec. As a manager and leader, he has managed very large multidisciplinary teams in numerous ITS and telecommunications project deployments.

Montreal, April 12, 2021—Yves R. Hamel and Associates Inc. (YRH), one of Canada’s leading telecommunications, radiocommunication and mobile communications firms is pleased to announce the arrival and nomination of René Morissette as Director of FTTH and Outside Plants. His appointment, combined with his vast experience, will reinforce the efforts put in place in the last few years to meet the market demand for FTTH, high-speed Internet and the advent of the 5G.

Mr. René Morissette is a senior engineer and seasoned manager in the field of telecommunications, FTTH and outside plants. He graduated from the University of Sherbrooke with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in telecommunications. He has worked for more than 27 years in the field of telecommunications and consulting engineering. During his career, he has participated in the deployment of several thousands of km of fibre optic and FTTH networks across Canada for most of the major Canadian telecommunications carriers and several organizations owning critical telecommunications infrastructure such as Hydro-Quebec. He also participated in the planning and design of Small Cell projects for 5G deployment. As a manager and leader, he has led very large multidisciplinary teams in numerous FTTH telecommunications projects.

YRH congratulate the Ontario government for the Broadband Program announcement in the 2021 Budget

Following the Ontario Budget 2021 announcement on March 24, 2021, YRH wants to congratulate the Ontario Government in their effort  to add a massive $2.8 billion investment to improve broadband access across Ontario. This investment will reduce the gap between the well-connected urban regions in Ontario bringing high-speed Internet to many underserved Ontario communities.

Online Safety Code 6 training – NEW!

The objective of the training

This training is to impart thorough understanding of the interactions of RF energy with the human body, to demystify the associated health risks and to position these risks relative to Health Canada’s Safety Code 6 exposure limits. Our training is specific to Health Canada’s radiofrequency exposure guidelines.

Who are the trainings for?

Basic Training is intended for personnel working in close proximity with antennas, with little or no specific knowledge of RF systems and electromagnetic radiation, such as tower crews, inspectors, construction or rooftop HVAC maintenance workers or anyone working on a building’s roof.

Advanced Training it is intended for workers who already have some knowledge of RF systems such as engineers and specialized technicians. But also to professionals in the field of health, public safety and occupational safety. (Available on request, contact us)

A Year Has Passed Already!

The new year is a time to pause and look back on the year that just ended while thinking of the road ahead. Despite the many challenges both on a global and a personal scale, Yves R. Hamel and Associés Inc. (YRH) is pleased to conclude that this year of transition has been a positive one after all.

One year ago, on February 1st, 2020…

A year ago, Mr. François Hamel left the presidency of YRH after 35 exciting years with the company to become a strategic advisor and now focusses on personal and professional event management projects. Best of luck and thank you François for these wonderful years!

A year ago, Mr. Maurice Beauséjour rose to the challenge of being the first president not to bear the name Hamel since the company’s creation in 1967. Throughout this unusual year, he successfully led the company and helped it meet the many challenges along the way. Congratulations to Maurice on his first year as President!

A year ago, Mr. Filomeno Pepe celebrated his first anniversary as a partner, opening the door to a new generation. Congratulations on your second year as partner!

A year ago, two long-time employees of the organization were made partners. Mr. Alexis Langlois and Mr. Étienne Leroux, congratulations on your first year as partners!
