Evaluation of the communication system After the civil war, a Canadian governmental organization offered to
evaluate the extent of the work necessary to rebuild the infrastructures
in the following sectors: water, environment, telecommunications, and
electricity. A multidisciplinary team was sent to Kigali for the infrastructure
evaluation mission. YRH was mandated for the telecommunications section. |
|
The objectives of this mission was primarily based on: ·Evaluating the state of the telecommunications infrastructures;·Estimating the amount of work required to restore them; ·Formulating recommendations with regards to the nature, urgency and scope of the work to be done. Within this mandate, we met with the representatives from Rwanda in
charge of telecommunications. Furthermore, we were able to evaluate
the nature and extent of the damages, the work required, and the costs
involved to permanently restoring the telecommunications infrastructures.
The local capability to participate in the work was also assessed. |
