Preliminary design of a microwave access network

An important equipment supplier mandated YRH to do the preliminary design of a microwave access network in the primary cities of Morocco.

Our client, to begin with, wanted to deploy a cellular network offering coverage to the cities of Casablanca, Marrakesh, Rabat, Tanger, Fes and Meknes. The scope of this project was to do theoretical calculations of the access links for approximately thirty cellular sites per city. Path surveys on topographical maps and in the field, as well as site visits were also part of our mandate.

Energy distribution and transport network - Telemetry and control

YRH was mandated by a Quebec firm to work on the preparation of an answer to a RFQ (request for quotation) for the implementation of a control and telemetry network of an energy distribution and transport system in Morocco.

Some of our responsibilities included:

• Design of the transmission network;
• Capacity and traffic calculations;
• Cost evaluations;
• Appraisal of quotations from suppliers;
• Assessment of the various available equipment.
