Evaluation of the telecommunications needs of SOGEL

The Consortium SNC-Shawinigan/YRH was mandated by the Guinea Electricity Company (SOGEL) to carry out a feasibility study with regards to the telecommunications needs of SOGEL. This study required the support of a Directing Plan covering the telecommunications needs for the 1995 to 1997 period.

The feasibility study included the following steps:

• Evaluating the telecommunications needs of the SOGEL as expressed by the main interveners of the company, each Division had expressed specific needs;
• Evaluation of the current state of the telecommunications network included the CPL and radio networks;
• Evaluation of the various technical options as well as their respective costs.
