Feasibility study for a broadcasting project
The Eritrea National Television had the objective to expand its coverage to 90% of the country. Its Asmara transmitters (1000 watts) and Assab (500 watts) did not provide service to the towns of Massawa, Keren, Tesseney, Barentu and Akordat. YRH and a Canadian partner were mandated to conduct a feasibility study to improve on the existing network.

Studies based on topographical maps and a field survey allowed us to propose a national network that included:

• A main transmitting site in Asmara operating at the increased power of 5 kW;
  Repeater sites in Massawa, Keren, Barentu, Tesseney and Akordat;
  STL links between the main transmitter and the repeater sites.
